Folks, gather ’round because we’ve got a real humdinger from this week’s “AEW Dynamite.” Will Ospreay, the high-flying “Aerial Assassin” himself, decided to serve up some spicy commentary—and this time, he had WWE’s Triple H in his crosshairs.

You see, Triple H, the big guy at WWE, recently threw out a line about not wanting wrestlers who prefer a lighter schedule, which many, including Ospreay, took as a bit of a low blow. Given that one big reason Ospreay chose AEW over WWE was to keep enjoying his tea and crumpets back home in England, you could say the comment struck a chord.

So, during “Dynamite,” Ospreay didn’t just swing back—he knocked it out of the park. “Normally I wouldn’t rise to this type of bait. But seeing as how the guy who said it is only in the position he’s in because he was grinding the boss’ daughter, you have no business telling me what the grind is all about,” he quipped. That’s a zinger that could stir up more drama than a soap opera at high noon!

Now, here’s where the backstage grapevine gets juicy. PWTorch claimed that the cheeky jab was Tony Khan’s brainchild, meant to add some extra sizzle to the show. But hold your horses—Fightful Select says it was actually Ospreay’s own firecracker of an idea, cooked up with the creative team and given the green light by folks backstage. They even toyed with tossing another barb at CM Punk into the mix, but decided maybe that’d be gilding the lily a bit too much after showing that backstage scuffle at All In 2023.

So what’s the moral of the story? When it comes to wrestling, the real action might just be as heated outside the ring as it is inside. And as for Ospreay, well, he’s proving there’s no need to fly under the radar when you can soar right over it.
