Alright folks, strap in because LA Knight is tearing through the WWE like a tornado in a trailer park. Fresh off his big win over AJ Styles at WrestleMania 40, Knight just threw down the gauntlet on “WWE SmackDown,” outmaneuvering both Bobby Lashley and Santos Escobar to move ahead in the No. 1 contender’s tournament. The prize? A shot at Cody Rhodes’ shiny Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Now, this wasn’t your grandma’s bingo night—this match was more like a circus with all the interference flying around. Legado del Fantasma tried to mix it up, and even the Street Profits jumped into the fray, but none of that could stop Knight from his march to victory.
The brawl kicked off with all three gladiators spilling out of the ring, and when we swung back from a commercial break, Lashley was ruling the roost. But it wasn’t long before Knight found his footing, despite getting a taste of the mat thanks to a triple power bomb from Angel and Berto of Legado del Fantasma. Just when Lashley tried to clean house, he got more than he bargained for and ended up on the losing end of a scuffle with Legado.
Then, in a twist right out of a telenovela, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins dove into the action, but Elektra Lopez tried to throw Dawkins off his game—only to get thwarted by B-Fab’s right hook.
Dawkins wasn’t just there to watch the clouds go by; he launched himself out of the ring to lay down some justice on Legado. Meanwhile, Lashley nearly speared himself into early retirement missing a charge, and Knight seized the moment. With Lashley out of the picture, Knight delivered a crushing Blunt Force Trauma to Escobar and pinned him for the win.
Now, LA Knight is set to face off against the victor of another triple threat featuring Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, and Kevin Owens. Whoever comes out on top there will meet Knight in a showdown that’s sure to have fans on the edge of their seats. Next week’s “SmackDown” is shaping up to be a sizzler, as Knight aims to climb another rung toward that championship belt.
