AEW has just made a notable addition to its Spanish commentary team by bringing on board Carlos Cabrera, a name familiar to wrestling fans for his long tenure with WWE. The announcement came directly from AEW CEO Tony Khan via a post on X, declaring Cabrera as the latest member to go “All Elite.” Cabrera made his debut on this week’s episode of “AEW Dynamite,” adding his seasoned voice to the broadcast.
“Welcome to the @AEW commentary team tonight on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite! Carlos Cabrera is All Elite!” tweeted Tony Khan.
Cabrera will be joining forces with Alvaro Riojas on the Spanish commentary desk, enhancing the team that has also seen contributions from Thunder Rosa and Alex Abrahantes. The Colombian commentator’s move to AEW comes after his departure from WWE in February 2022, where he was a staple voice alongside Hugo Savinovich. Post-WWE, Cabrera continued his commentary career in AAA, even reuniting with Savinovich for some events.
This shift happens while the “Dynamite” English commentary lineup boasts familiar voices such as Taz, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur. Schiavone also lends his talents to “AEW Collision,” working alongside Nigel McGuinness and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross.
