Last night’s TNA Rebellion had a plot twist that even M. Night Shyamalan couldn’t predict: Matt Hardy, free agent extraordinaire, made a jaw-dropping appearance, shaking up the wrestling world and leaving fans clamoring for more. After declining an extension with AEW, Hardy has been the wrestling equivalent of the most eligible bachelor, chatting up multiple promotions.

The drama peaked when Hardy unleashed havoc on TNA World Champion Moose, leading many to jump to the conclusion that he had signed with TNA. But Hardy was quick to clear the air on X (the artist formerly known as Twitter), stating, “No. I’m a free agent. I will appear when I want to appear.” It’s like he’s channeling his inner wrestling genie—appearing when summoned and leaving chaos in his wake.

While a showdown with Moose seems to be in the cards, Hardy isn’t putting all his eggs in one TNA basket. He’s still in talks with AEW, playing it coy about where he might end up next. His reasoning? At this stage in his career, every move must be calculated with the precision of a chess grandmaster. Hardy praises AEW for its schedule flexibility, but he’s not ready to settle down just yet.

Matt’s wrestling journey has been a family affair with his brother Jeff Hardy, with whom he reunited in AEW in 2022. Jeff is still under AEW’s banner, so any move Matt makes could spell the end of the Hardy Boyz’s latest tag-team chapter. Their last match together saw them team up with Mark Briscoe to topple Kip Sabian, The Butcher, and The Blade in January.
