WWE’s own Dominik Mysterio has become quite the enigma after strutting onto “WWE Raw” with a sling that screamed “ouch!” just as loudly as his in-ring antics. While the rumor mills were spinning faster than a luchador on a caffeine rush, it was reported that Mysterio had bowed out of WWE’s European tour, tagging in Ricochet as his replacement. The plot thickened as whispers of an elbow injury suffered during a scuffle with Andrade circulated, thanks to the wrestling whisperer, Dave Meltzer.

Meltzer described the incident as a “freak accident” on the April 15 “Raw,” leading to chatter about the dreaded Tommy John surgery. Yes, folks, the kind you usually hear about in baseball, not the squared circle. Yet, just as everyone was ready to send get-well-soon cards, Mysterio swung a curveball on social media: “No surgery for this guy…” What a cliffhanger! Is he denying the need for surgery, or just flexing his pain tolerance on Instagram?

While Meltzer tossed around a recovery estimate borrowed from the baseball big leagues—about nine months—Mysterio’s actual timeout is still as mysterious as the Undertaker’s retirement plans. Despite the injury, WWE isn’t ready to bench their star completely. Echoing the steps of Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, Mysterio will continue to grace the TV screens, joining The Judgment Day in a non-combat role. It’s WWE’s way of saying, “You can break our bodies, but not our screen time.”

So, as Dominik Mysterio ponders the paths of surgery and superstars, the WWE Universe waits with bated breath. Will he return to full glory, or is this just another storyline twist? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: in WWE, even the injuries can become legendary.
