In a night that was supposed to be a triumphant return for Winnipeg’s very own Kenny Omega, the reality turned grim on “AEW Dynamite.” Omega, having bravely battled through a severe bout of diverticulitis that nearly cost him his career—and almost his life—stood in the ring to share his harrowing journey. With the stark honesty of a man who faced mortality, he revealed just how close he came to needing a colostomy bag or worse.

However, Omega’s heartfelt moment of vulnerability was shattered by a cold act of betrayal. Just as he appealed for a few months to recover fully, hoping to reignite his storied rivalry with Kazuchika Okada under the AEW banner, the night took a dark turn. Okada, after a tense staredown, exited the ring, leaving Omega to the mercy of a less merciful fate.

The Elite, once brothers-in-arms with Omega, launched a vicious assault. Jack Perry and The Young Bucks, armed with a disregard for Omega’s medical warnings, unleashed an EVP Trigger that echoed betrayal through the arena. The attack was so brutal that FTR had to intervene, attempting to salvage what little dignity remained on the canvas.

The cruelty reached its peak when Omega, already incapacitated and being wheeled out on a gurney, was callously dumped onto the cold, unforgiving cement by The Elite. The image of Dax Harwood’s distraught face as he witnessed Omega’s fall encapsulated the shock and heartache of the night.

Omega’s journey back to the ring has been nothing short of miraculous, making the betrayal even more poignant and devastating. The wrestling world watches, heartbroken and furious, as one of its brightest stars is dimmed by the very people he once called family. The road to recovery will be long and fraught with more than physical challenges, but if there’s one thing Kenny Omega has proven, it’s that he’s a fighter. The saga continues, and the wrestling community can only hope for a resolution that brings justice for Omega.
