In a world where wrestling drama often overshadows the glitz of the squared circle, WWE’s very own silver fox, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, dished out some cold hard truths at the WWE Backlash post-show press fiesta. Addressing the whispers and rumors like a maestro conducts an orchestra, Triple H made it clear: Drew Gulak hasn’t been “released”—he’s simply not been invited back. It’s like not getting a callback after a bad first date, folks!

“Look, we release talent all the time. It’s like spring cleaning but with more muscles and less dust,” Triple H explained, possibly while flexing unintentionally. “Can I say he was released? He was not released. His contract was just not renewed.” That’s corporate speak for “It’s not you, it’s us… but really, it’s you.”

Drew Gulak, the former WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion who has grappled his way through the ranks since 2016, found himself in hotter waters than a WWE hot tub party when none other than Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey tossed a spicy allegation his way. Rousey claimed that Gulak played a game of tag with the string of her sweatpants—a move not sanctioned by any wrestling federation. Gulak countered, claiming his hand-to-sweatpants encounter was as accidental as a Stone Cold Steve Austin tea party.

Following Rousey’s claim, Gulak was mysteriously written off NXT TV, faster than you can say “What the heck, Gulak?” with the D’Angelo family hinting they “took care” of him. In mobster terms, that’s not usually a good sign, but in wrestling, who knows? Maybe they just sent him on a nice vacation.

In the end, Triple H’s press conference was a masterclass in deflection, worthy of a WWE plot twist. No chairs were thrown, but words certainly were. So, what’s next for Gulak? More twists than a pretzel factory, one hopes. As for Triple H, he remains as cool as the other side of the pillow. Wrestle on, warriors!
