In a plot twist that could rival any wrestling storyline, AEW star Daniel “Cash” Wheeler is swapping his wrestling boots for a suit as he heads to a Florida courtroom for a pre-trial hearing tomorrow. As reported by PWInsider, this legal showdown might just be the preliminary bout before his trial later this month, connected to an alleged road rage incident last July.

Pre-trial hearings: they’re not as thrilling as a cage match, but they’re crucial for setting the stage for what’s to come in court. There’s a chance this whole thing could wrap up quicker than a squash match if Wheeler’s defense and the prosecution can hammer out a plea deal. Or, it could be an opening salvo, with motions flying faster than top-rope high-fliers.

Just over a week after posting bond, Wheeler wasn’t laying low; he was flying high across the pond in London at AEW All In. Alongside his tag team partner, Dax Harwood, the duo known as FTR defended their AEW World Tag Team Championship against the Young Bucks. Though they later dropped the belts to Ricky Starks and Big Bill, they’ve remained fixtures in the AEW ring, most recently facing off again with the Young Bucks at AEW Dynasty.

As Wheeler prepares to face the music, or rather the gavel, his fans will be hoping for a storyline with a happy ending. But unlike scripted matches, in the courtroom, there’s no telling who will come out on top.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
