Ah, Carmella, the WWE’s princess of Staten Island, has been absent from our screens since March 2023. The reason? Not another wrestling injury, folks, but the beautiful chaos of childbirth. After giving birth to her son, she’s been sidelined due to a rather unexpected injury.
On “The Nikki and Brie Show,” Carmella spilled the tea about her ordeal, making us all feel like absolute wimps. Picture this: she powered through 60 hours of labor—yes, SIXTY hours. Most of us can’t handle an hour without WiFi. In her words, “I just want to prove I think to myself that okay I can go through this insane experience of labor and delivery and pregnancy, and my body is completely different now from the inside out, would love to go back and just prove that I can, just to myself.”
But here’s the kicker—literally. She’s been dealing with Drop Foot, a charming little condition that sounds like a wrestling move but is actually a result of herniated discs pressing on a nerve in her back. All this from pushing out a baby. “I mean I wrestled for 11 years and other than some concussions, knock on wood, never had any injuries, and now I have this major injury from delivering my son,” she said.
Carmella also nearly had to undergo a c-section but dodged that bullet, showing she’s still got some of that in-ring agility. As for when she’ll return to WWE? The timeline is fuzzy, but there’s a plan, folks. And knowing Carmella, she’ll be back strutting down the ramp with her signature sass sooner rather than later.
