The enigmatic and ever-entertaining AEW star Danhausen has stirred the pot once again with a cryptic message on social media, leaving fans both puzzled and intrigued about his future in the wrestling world. The former ROH sensation, who has been noticeably absent from AEW programming since December last year, took to Instagram with a post that has everyone buzzing.
“I answer to none. I belong nowhere. I believe in nothing except myself,” read the caption, sparking speculation about his status with AEW.
Danhausen, known for his unique blend of comedy and wrestling prowess, joined AEW in January 2022 after ROH temporarily shut down in December 2021. At the time of his signing, he was a fan favorite on the independent circuit, known for his hilarious antics with stars like CM Punk. In AEW, he quickly aligned himself with Orange Cassidy and The Best Friends, bringing his quirky charisma to the mainstream stage.
Despite his popularity, Danhausen’s journey in AEW has been a rollercoaster. He’s had two title shots – a brief FTW title match against Ricky Starks and a more competitive tag team championship match alongside Orange Cassidy at Revolution last year. Unfortunately, it was during the latter match that Danhausen suffered a torn pectoral muscle, sidelining him until November.
His last appearance in AEW came in December at AEW Worlds End, where he participated in a battle royal for a TNT Championship cash-in contract, which was ultimately won by Killswitch. Since then, Danhausen has been conspicuously absent from AEW television but has kept busy on the independent circuit, even capturing the GCW World title briefly before losing it to Blake Christian with an assist from Matt Cardona.
With his latest cryptic message, fans are left to wonder: Is Danhausen hinting at a departure from AEW? Or is he merely playing into his mysterious persona? Only time will tell what the future holds for the beloved wrestler.
