Oh, folks, gather ’round because I’ve got some big news from the world of spandex and suplexes! Eddie Kingston, our beloved brawler with the heart of a lion and the mouth of a sailor, is sidelined thanks to a doozy of an injury. Let’s dive into the tale of woe and recovery, shall we?

The Breakdown

It was a dark and stormy night… okay, it was actually at New Japan Pro-Wrestling Resurgence earlier this month, where Kingston faced a brutal post-match attack by The Elite. The diagnosis was a fractured tibia, which sounds painful enough to make you wince, but it gets worse. Much worse.

PWInsider reports that “The Mad King” also suffered tears to his ACL and meniscus. Yes, folks, that’s like a wrestling triple whammy. To fix the knee damage, surgery is a must. Initially, our gritty gladiator hoped to be back in action by All In in London this August. But, plot twist! He’s now staring down a roughly nine-month recovery period. That means no Eddie until early 2025, people.

Kingston Speaks

In true warrior fashion, Eddie Kingston shared his thoughts with PWInsider, saying, “This is part of the game. Injuries happen. I will be back.” No crying in wrestling, just gritty determination.

Match Mayhem

Before the injury struck, Kingston was all set to team up with Bryan Danielson and FTR at Double or Nothing in an Anarchy In the Arena match against The Elite. Alas, the wrestling gods had other plans. Enter: Darby Allin, who swooped in as the replacement on last week’s “AEW Dynamite.” Now, Kingston’s ringside view is permanent for the foreseeable future.

So, while Eddie takes some much-needed R&R (Rehab & Recovery), we’ll all be missing his fiery presence in the ring. But knowing Kingston, he’ll come back stronger, fiercer, and ready to dish out some serious payback. Stay tuned, wrestling fans!
