Well, folks, it looks like Adam Copeland decided to take a trip down memory lane and brought a bucket of blood along for the ride. Remember that legendary WCW moment when a crimson cascade was supposed to douse Kevin Nash but ended up missing him entirely? Fast forward to this week’s “AEW Dynamite,” and history hilariously repeated itself as Copeland unleashed the Brood’s bloody baptism on Malakai Black. Spoiler alert: the target practice could use some work.
Just after Malakai Black wrapped up his victory against Kyle O’Reilly, priming himself for the Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match at Double Or Nothing, the arena was hit with a red and black light show. Then, gallons of what can only be described as theatrical ketchup rained down. True to form, the gory gush initially missed Black, but unlike Nash, who just stood there probably thinking, “Is this part of the show?” Black, always the drama king, threw himself into the goo, rolling around like a kid at a mud festival.
Enter Copeland on the video screen, delivering a cryptic message to Black about being careful what he wishes for. Apparently, Copeland’s vampiric Brood-era persona has been resurrected to meet Black’s gothic flair head-on, and nothing says “gothic intimidation” like a bloodbath blunder, right?
This act of theatrical revenge follows last week’s debacle, where the House of Black blindsided Copeland, roughed him up, and even snatched his wedding band. Seems like Copeland is done playing nice and ready to go full vampire, minus the sparkles. Fans are buzzing with speculation that this messy spectacle might be a precursor to the return of former Brood leader Gangrel. Just imagine the potential for more blood… and more missed targets.
As of today, Copeland’s reign as TNT Champion stands at 63 days. His upcoming clash with Black at Double or Nothing will be his fifth televised title defense. Will he keep his belt, or will he just keep spilling blood? Stay tuned, folks. It’s gonna be a bloody good time!
