Folks, it’s almost time to put on your finest sequins and pretend you have luck on your side, because AEW is gearing up for Double or Nothing 2024! Just 48 hours before the big five-year celebration, Tony Khan is still tinkering with the card like a chef perfecting his buffet masterpiece. During Friday’s episode of “AEW Rampage,” Deonna Purrazzo finally picked the time and place for her much-anticipated showdown with Thunder Rosa. Naturally, it’s happening at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas during the “Buy In” pre-show on Sunday. Place your bets, folks!

The feud between Purrazzo and Rosa has been spicier than a Vegas hot sauce, simmering for weeks. Purrazzo, still smarting from her pay-per-view loss to Toni Storm at Revolution, brought in Rosa to be her ace in the hole. But instead of camaraderie, it’s been chaos. Rosa defeated “The Virtuosa” on “Rampage” last month, which led to Purrazzo going full drama queen and turning on her. The two brawled like rival Elvis impersonators until security had to step in. Purrazzo claimed she turned on Rosa because Rosa tried to “jump the line” for a title shot, making it all about herself – classic Vegas diva move.

Since the betrayal, “La Mera Mera” has attacked Purrazzo after two of her matches, keeping this feud hotter than a blackjack table on a winning streak. When Rosa told her former ally to name a time and place, Purrazzo told Renee Paquette, “We’re doing it in Las Vegas, baby, where the lights shine brightest and the stakes are highest!”

“I say we do it in Las Vegas,” Purrazzo declared, adding that she wants to “start the show by ending you.” And just like that, the match was made official, bringing the total number of Double or Nothing matches to a whopping 11. As of now, this is the only match on the “Buy In” pre-show, but who knows what surprises Khan has up his sleeve?

Rosa took to social media to fan the flames, urging fans to “start placing your bets,” claiming that the luck of Las Vegas is with her, and she’s going to “wipe the floor” with Purrazzo. Sounds like this match will be more entertaining than a magic show with a tiger – and just as dangerous.
