In a match that made the last season of Game of Thrones look like a Sunday picnic, two-thirds of The Brood reunited at AEW Double or Nothing, with the vampire himself, Gangrel, helping Adam Copeland retain his TNT Championship. This wasn’t just a wrestling match—it was a bloody brawl featuring barbed wire, surprise appearances, and more drama than a reality TV show reunion.

The chaos began right from the bell, as Copeland and Malakai Black played a violent game of “who can bleed more” with chairs and barbed wire. Copeland took an early lead, ripping barbed wire off the cage and wrapping it around the turnbuckle, slicing Black open like a summer watermelon. But Black isn’t one to take a flesh wound lying down; he soon returned the favor with a barbed wire bat to Copeland’s forehead, proving that turnabout is fair play in the squared circle.

The brutality escalated faster than my Aunt Edna’s blood pressure at a family reunion. Both men scaled the cage, and Black powerbombed Copeland through a table. Yet, like a superhero with an allergy to losing, Copeland kicked out and hit a spear, wrapping Black in barbed wire for an added touch of medieval torture. Not to be outdone, Copeland climbed to the very top of the cage and delivered an elbow drop that sent Black through another table, as the crowd collectively lost their minds.

Just when it seemed the carnage couldn’t get any wilder, Copeland kicked Black through the cage door and speared him outside. Enter Brody King and Buddy Matthews, the House of Black’s enforcers, who pulled a fake alliance with Copeland before trapping him back in the cage and wrapping him in barbed wire like a macabre Christmas present.

Then, the arena lights flipped from black to red—cue the spooky music—as Gangrel rose from the ring, spitting “blood” in Brody King’s face like a horror movie come to life. He laid waste to the House of Black but took a superkick from Black for his troubles. Amid the chaos, Copeland, still looking like a porcupine with all that barbed wire, speared Black again, wrapped more wire around Black’s head, and locked in a crossface. Black, either exhausted or just plain done, passed out, and Copeland retained his title.

Not only did Copeland keep his TNT Championship, but he also reclaimed his wedding ring from the House of Black, avoiding a fate worse than losing a title—joining their dark and creepy stable. Talk about a win-win!
