WWE fans, brace yourselves – it looks like Becky Lynch might be saying “see ya” to the ring for a while. After losing the WWE Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring, and then again failing to reclaim the title on the May 27 edition of “WWE Raw,” Lynch dropped a cryptic bombshell on social media, hinting at her uncertain future. Word on the street, or rather from the wrestling oracle Dave Meltzer of “Wrestling Observer Radio,” is that “The Man” is eyeing an extended break to spend quality time with her family.
“Becky Lynch didn’t renew,” Meltzer spilled the tea. “Lynch is taking an extended leave. From what I was told, it’s not like a short period of time; she was looking for a long period of time out. It’s probably if [Seth Rollins] isn’t on the road, it makes sense for her not to be on the road. They can’t be hurting for money or anything where they need it right now, and maybe she’s looking at other things or maybe she’s not. But she will be a free agent a couple of days from now.”
The news has hit the wrestling world harder than a steel chair to the head. Even AEW’s Chris Jericho chimed in, noting that having a company like AEW in the mix is great for Lynch, giving her a solid alternative when she decides to step back into the squared circle.
