It’s June 1st, and the wrestling world is buzzing because, for the first time in over a decade, Becky Lynch is officially a free agent. According to Fightful Select, Lynch chose not to re-sign with WWE before her contract expired, making her one of the hottest commodities on the market.

Before we jump to conclusions, this doesn’t spell the end of Lynch’s WWE saga. Fightful reports that WWE is keen on continuing negotiations with their star, confident that they can ink a new deal. However, Becky Lynch is expected to field multiple blockbuster offers—the kind that could set records for women in professional wrestling. WWE insiders have praised Lynch as “class” during negotiations, noting that she had informed the company well in advance of her plan to take a break. Interestingly, she clinched the Women’s World Championship in April after announcing her hiatus, with WWE trusting her to drop the title in style, which she did against Liv Morgan at WWE King & Queen of the Ring.

Becky Lynch’s journey to free agency is unique. Anyone could have signed her back in 2013 when she debuted with WWE’s “NXT,” but Lynch had taken a break from wrestling for several years prior. Therefore, she hasn’t been a true free agent since about 2006. As a WWE women’s Grand Slam Champion, holding eight singles titles and one tag title, and victor of the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event in 2019, Lynch’s resume is beyond impressive.

Wrestling fans are on the edge of their seats, waiting to see where The Man will land. Will WWE manage to reel her back in, or will another promotion make her an offer she can’t refuse? Stay tuned as the wrestling world holds its breath for Becky Lynch’s next move!
