Hold the phone, folks! Just when you thought wrestling couldn’t get any more melodious, TNA’s very own Joe Hendry is here to prove you wrong. The man who skyrocketed to the top of the UK charts with his catchy entrance anthem “I Believe In Joe Hendry” has set his musical sights on WWE’s former Tag Team Champions, The New Day.
Yes, you read that right. Hendry, who’s known for his crowd-pleasing and rival-taunting song covers, revealed in an interview with Cultaholic that he has penned a new track specifically for The New Day. Move over, Taylor Swift—Hendry’s about to drop the hottest wrestling jam of the year!
During the interview, Hendry said, “As soon as he [Xavier Woods] tweeted that [about making a song with Hendry], I get an idea and it just goes, all the best ideas are quick, you know in terms of like coming up with the main hook. So I have the hook, but I don’t want to step on any toes on what you can and can’t say when it comes to copyright and things like that. So I’ve written a song that I think would be fun for us to record, and if WWE and TNA were both cool with it then I’d happily proceed with it.”
Hendry’s plan is to pitch the song to Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston to see if it strikes a chord (pun intended). If the New Day digs it, and the wrestling gods (and lawyers) smile upon this crossover, we might just witness a musical alliance for the ages. Hendry is evidently a big fan of the potential for cross-promotion between TNA and WWE, hinting at the early stages of a possible working relationship between the two wrestling giants.
