Hold onto your kilts, folks, because WWE is cranking the drama up to eleven for Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland! The land of haggis and Braveheart speeches will now host a match for the ages as World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest goes toe-to-toe with the “Scottish Psychopath” Drew McIntyre, with a juicy stipulation: Judgment Day will be banned from ringside! That’s right, no spooky, gothic entourage to help Priest, just good old-fashioned mano a mano.
The drama unfolded on WWE Raw like the best soap opera you never knew you needed. Priest, ever the crafty champion, threw down a challenge to McIntyre. The deal was simple: if McIntyre beat Finn Balor, Judgment Day would be banished from ringside. But if Balor emerged victorious, Priest’s crew would be front and center to cheer him on. Spoiler alert: things didn’t exactly go Priest’s way.
McIntyre and Balor went at it like two lads fighting over the last can of Irn-Bru. Bodies flew in and out of the ring, with McIntyre tossing Balor over the announce desk like a caber at the Highland Games. The Glasgow Kiss and Future Shock DDT combo from McIntyre had the crowd ready to crown him the victor, but enter Priest, stage right, ramp-side, to try and mess things up.
Cue the rest of Judgment Day – Carlito and JD McDonagh – making a run-in that would make the Keystone Cops proud. But McIntyre, channeling his inner Braveheart, fought them off with the ferocity of a man who’s just heard there’s only one deep-fried Mars bar left. Balor tried to capitalize on the chaos with a sneaky roll-up, but McIntyre, refusing to be outdone, kicked out and delivered a Claymore Kick that sent Balor into next week.
With Judgment Day officially banned, it’s just McIntyre vs. Priest, no distractions, no excuses. McIntyre is looking to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship he lost at WrestleMania 40, thanks to Priest’s sneaky Money in the Bank cash-in and a distraction by none other than CM Punk. Can McIntyre win back his title in front of a home crowd, or will Priest pull another trick out of his very dark and mysterious bag?
Stay tuned for Clash at the Castle, where the only thing thicker than the Scottish accents will be the tension!
