Ladies and gentlemen, buckle up, because we’ve got some spicy, backstage scoop on everyone’s favorite daredevil, Jeff Hardy! According to the impeccable sources over at Fightful Select, Jeff’s AEW contract is set to poof out of existence faster than a magician’s rabbit, with the final curtain call happening this Friday, June 14.
Now, rumors were swirling like a tornado in a trailer park that AEW might stretch Jeff’s contract like a piece of saltwater taffy, considering all those injury-induced hiatuses. But as of Wednesday, the powers that be in AEW haven’t exercised that option. I guess they prefer their wrestlers as fresh as their storylines.
So what’s next for the man who defies gravity more often than a helium balloon? Well, it seems our friends at TNA Wrestling are batting their eyes and sending flowers. Jeff has some history with TNA, having moonlighted there from 2004 to 2006 and then again from 2010 to 2017. Naturally, TNA is interested in rekindling this love affair.
For those keeping track, Jeff joined AEW in March 2022, reuniting The Hardy Boyz and occasionally flying solo. His last appearance in the ring was on the February 16 episode of “AEW Rampage.” Unfortunately, that bout ended with a broken nose, courtesy of a botched Shooting Star Press from Sammy Guevara. This incident triggered AEW’s concussion protocols, which Guevara apparently treated like a suggestion from a backseat driver. Consequently, Guevara earned himself a suspension from action for an undisclosed amount of time.
So, as we bid adieu to Jeff Hardy’s current AEW chapter, we eagerly await the next thrilling installment of his wrestling saga. Stay tuned, folks!
