In a move that’s causing more buzz than a backstage brawl, Anthem Entertainment has just announced the appointment of former WWE executive Rob Kligman as their new Chief Revenue Officer. With rumors swirling around the aftermath of TNA’s Against All Odds pay-per-view, Kligman’s arrival aims to bring some much-needed stability and revenue growth to the brand.
Kligman, who spent over seven years at WWE, was a key player in securing their lucrative deal with Netflix. This impressive feat caught the attention of Anthem, who clearly see him as a heavy hitter capable of driving TNA and their other properties to new heights. It’s like recruiting a wrestling champ to coach the high school team—expect big things.
Not just a one-trick pony, Kligman’s resume reads like a who’s who of media giants. He’s held prominent positions at Time Inc, USA Today Sports Media Group, and even Sports Illustrated, where he climbed the ranks to become National Advertising Sales Director before joining WWE. He’s also no stranger to Anthem, having worked with Invicta Fighting Championships, an all-women’s MMA promotion under the Anthem umbrella.
Kligman’s new role at Anthem will focus on boosting the revenue streams for both TNA and Invicta. His arrival follows the recent exits of several key figures from TNA, including creative director David Sahadi and producer RD Evans. It appears Kligman will step into the shoes of Lou D’Angeli (a.k.a. Sign Guy Dudley/Lou E. Dangerously), who previously served as the Vice President of Marketing for Anthem’s Sports Group.
Despite these shakeups, TNA seems to be on firm footing. The return of wrestling icons Matt and Jeff Hardy has injected new life into the promotion, and their ongoing partnership with WWE hints at exciting crossover events to come. Tatum Paxley’s appearance at Against All Odds is just the beginning—expect more surprises in the wrestling ring soon.
