Hold onto your wrestling belts, folks! While the Saudi Arabian government is busy trying to lure the WWE Royal Rumble to their sandy shores in 2026 or 2027, there’s some juicy news brewing stateside. WWE is reportedly cooking up a mega deal with the Indiana Sports Corp. to host not just one, but several of their biggest events in the heart of the Midwest – Indianapolis.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is on the brink of sealing a multi-event deal with the Indiana Sports Corp., aiming to bring the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam to Indianapolis in the coming years. Mark your calendars, wrestling fans, because the Royal Rumble is tentatively set for Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the colossal Lucas Oil Stadium, which can pack in up to 70,000 screaming fans. No word yet on when WrestleMania and SummerSlam will hit Indy, but it’s going to be epic!
The Indianapolis Business Journal adds more flavor to this potential blockbuster deal, suggesting it could span at least seven years. This means more than just the big three – we’re talking WWE SmackDown, WWE Raw, non-televised live events, and maybe even some smaller premium live events at the nearby Gainbridge Fieldhouse. That’s just a quick six-minute car ride from Lucas Oil Stadium. Talk about convenience!
And it doesn’t stop there. The deal could also see WWE spreading the wrestling love to other Indiana markets like Evansville and Fort Wayne. An official announcement is expected to be made on next week’s episode of “Raw,” broadcasting live from – you guessed it – Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Bonus: more Money in the Bank qualifying matches will be happening too!
