In a grand gesture that screams “style meets legacy,” AEW is rolling out the red carpet (and laces) for a new sneaker collaboration with Reebok, honoring the late, great Mr. Brodie Lee. Set to hit the virtual shelves on July 1, 2024, these exclusive kicks will be available only on Champ Sports’ official website. And here’s the kicker—100% of the proceeds and royalties are being generously donated by The Huber Family to the Highmark Caring charity, keeping “The Exalted One’s” spirit of compassion and community alive and well.
Lee’s wife, Amanda Huber, took to her X account to share her excitement, saying, “So excited to share with the world what we’ve been working on for quite some time and even more excited to know how much he’s still able to help people.” Talk about kicking it for a cause!
For those who might need a refresher, Lee, formerly known as Luke Harper in WWE, joined AEW in March 2020, dramatically revealing himself as the leader of The Dark Order. He immediately set his sights on becoming AEW World Champion. While his attempt at Double or Nothing 2020 against Jon Moxley didn’t go as planned, he rebounded by becoming the second-ever TNT Champion in August, besting Cody Rhodes. However, “The American Nightmare” exacted his revenge in an intense Dog Collar match in October, marking Lee’s final bout before his untimely passing on December 26, 2020, due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 41.
AEW paid an emotional tribute to Lee with the “Brodie Lee Celebration of Life” on the final “AEW Dynamite” episode of 2020. The special was a heartfelt and highly praised homage, cementing its place as one of the best tribute shows—and standalone episodes—in wrestling history.
