In a twist worthy of a wrestling plotline, John Cena shocked fans at Money in the Bank by announcing his upcoming retirement from in-ring action. Now, new details about his farewell tour have emerged, sending the WWE Universe into a frenzy.

According to “Fightful Select,” the retirement news was an open secret backstage, although some wrestlers were caught off guard when they spotted the special retirement merchandise. Apparently, numerous WWE stars are eager to face the 16-time world champion one last time, pitching their dream matches and storylines to WWE management.

WWE brass is now deep in discussions about how to give Cena the send-off he deserves. Rumor has it that Cena might stay involved in WWE in some capacity even after hanging up his boots, a hint he also dropped during the Money in the Bank post-show presser. Additionally, Cena’s retirement tour is expected to dovetail with his other projects, allowing him to juggle his wrestling commitments and Hollywood career.

Sources indicate that Cena’s farewell tour will span 30 to 40 events throughout 2025, starting in January and culminating in December. Fans will have plenty of opportunities to see their hero one last time before he steps away from the ring. In the meantime, Cena is busy filming the second season of the hit show “Peacemaker,” set to air next year.
