In a move that has both stunned and saddened fans, John Cena has laid out his plans for his final year in WWE, aiming to bid a proper farewell before retiring in 2025. The wrestling legend and Hollywood star of “Peacemaker” fame has decided to make 2024 his last hurrah in the ring, capping off an illustrious career that has seen him juggle the worlds of wrestling and acting with aplomb.

During the Money in the Bank Post Show, Cena fielded numerous questions, one of which asked about his goals before stepping away from the squared circle. Cena’s response was as humble as ever, underscoring his deep appreciation for the WWE Universe. “Just to let everyone know how appreciative I am,” Cena said. “I guess that is my ‘why’ for doing this: how grateful I am to do this for as long at the capacity I have. I was not kidding when I said tonight I was grateful to play in the house everybody built. That is all I’m doing. There were many before me, there will be many after. I guess what I have left to do is say my thank yous before that chapter closes.”

Despite his legendary status, Cena still has a few milestones he could achieve before his curtain call. Tied with Ric Flair at 16 World Championship reigns, Cena has one last chance to break this record. Additionally, he is just one title short of becoming a WWE Grand Slam Champion, with only the Intercontinental Championship eluding his grasp.

As the countdown to Cena’s retirement begins, fans eagerly await to see if he can check off these final career goals. Whether or not he secures these last accolades, Cena’s legacy as one of WWE’s greatest will remain firmly intact.
