Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your spandex and lace up your boots because we’ve got some breaking news straight from the squared circle! During Monday night’s “WWE Raw,” the commentary team dropped a bombshell that Tyler Bate of the New Catch Republic is out of action due to an injury. And just when Bate was really flexing his muscles in WWE, too!
Our courageous competitor has taken to Instagram to share his plight, posting a heroic photo of himself with his left arm in a sling. That’s right, folks—Bate tore a pectoral muscle so badly the tendon decided to make a run for it, completely off the bone! Yikes! But fear not, wrestling aficionados, Bate successfully underwent surgery and is currently resting up in a hospital bed, no doubt plotting his triumphant return.
In a message filled with more love than a Valentine’s Day card, Bate wrote, “I’ll be gone for some time while I recover, try not to miss me too much. I’m in good spirits and looking forward to seeing you all again soon, lots of love.” Well, isn’t he just the sweetest pectoral patient?
The unfortunate incident occurred during the July 2 edition of “WWE NXT” while Bate was tagging with Pete Dunne against Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. Near the match’s finale, Bate was seen clutching his left arm in pain—ouch!
2024 was shaping up to be quite the year for Bate, the former Mustache Mountain marvel. After eight years with WWE, he made his “WWE SmackDown” debut earlier this year. Alongside Dunne, the dynamic duo adopted the New Catch Republic moniker and began dazzling audiences across WWE’s myriad shows. They even graced the grandest stage of them all, WWE WrestleMania 40, competing in the Six-Pack Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. Although they didn’t snag the belts, they sure climbed their way into our hearts.
Stay tuned, wrestling fans. Bate’s recovery might take a while, but we’re sure he’ll be back in action before you can say “suplex city”!
