Hold onto your belts, wrestling fans, because we’ve got a match announcement hotter than a steel chair under the summer sun! WWE Superstar Shayna Baszler, known for her fierce in-ring prowess and brutal submission holds, is set to face off against TJPW star Miyu Yamashita at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XI on July 28 in Brooklyn, New York.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett broke the news on X (formerly known as Twitter), and his excitement was palpable:

“Two fierce warriors of the ring,” Barnett wrote. “Two battle-hardened women through martial arts and pro wrestling training. Two meeting for the first time in the hardest-hitting event in all of Professional Wrestling. The kicks of Miyu Yamashita taking on the submission holds of ‘The Queen of Spades’ Shayna Baszler at Josh Barnett’s: Bloodsport XI.”

Baszler, who recently found allies in Zoey Stark and Sonya Deville on “WWE Raw,” is no stranger to Bloodsport’s unique blend of martial arts and professional wrestling. She made waves at Bloodsport X during WrestleMania 40 weekend, where she defeated TNA Wrestling star Masha Slamovich. The event also featured other WWE talents, including NXT star Charlie Dempsey and even WWE President Nick Khan in attendance.

Bloodsport XI promises to be a star-studded affair. In addition to Baszler’s highly anticipated bout, WWE’s Brutus and Julius Creed are making their independent wrestling debuts, though their opponents remain a mystery. Former AEW star Mike Santana is set to clash with his long-time friend Homicide, and ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey will also grace the ring. And let’s not forget, Barnett himself will be stepping into the squared circle.

With such a stacked card, Bloodsport XI is shaping up to be an unmissable event for wrestling fans.
