Folks, we’ve got some thrilling news straight out of the squared circle! AEW’s masked marvel, Bandido, has been out of action for over a year after snapping his wrist like a breadstick in a fiery June 2023 bout against Konosuke Takeshita. Talk about putting the “break” in breakdancing!

Now, let me tell you, Bandido’s wrist saga has more twists than a soap opera. After his first surgery, the poor guy had to go under the knife again later in 2023. And here’s the kicker – he still hasn’t returned to the ring! It’s like watching a sequel to a movie that never ends.

But wait, there’s a glimmer of hope! The esteemed wrestling guru Dave Meltzer, who probably knows more about wrestlers than their own mothers, reports that Bandido recently tried to get cleared for action. Unfortunately, the doc said, “Not yet, amigo.” But fear not! He’ll give it another shot at the end of July. Fingers crossed, folks!

Now, here’s where it gets juicy. According to Meltzer, it’s a race to the top between Bandido and former AAA buddy Dragon Lee, who jumped ship to WWE in late 2022. While Bandido’s been on the injured list, Dragon Lee’s been shaking things up with WWE’s Latino World Order, teaming up with Joaquin Wilde on “WWE Main Event.” It’s like a telenovela, but with more spandex and body slams!

Before the wrist drama, Bandido was tagging along with the Lucha Brothers, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo, creating a trio that could make even the toughest luchador cry tears of joy. He also struck up a friendship with the ever-so-cool Orange Cassidy, leading to an epic showdown for the AEW International Championship. Ah, those were the days!

So, will Bandido rise from the ashes like a phoenix (or Rey Fenix, perhaps)? Only time will tell, my friends. Stay tuned for more updates on this high-flying hero’s journey back to the ring!
