Folks, the wrestling world never sleeps, and this week’s drama comes courtesy of “WWE NXT” star Damon Kemp, aka Bobby Steveson. Damon Kemp announced his WWE exit, and starting August 12, he’s open for business – independent bookings, that is. No, he wasn’t kicked out; WWE just decided not to renew his contract. Now, the NXT locker room is buzzing like a hive of bees.

Our go-to guy, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reports that Kemp’s departure has stirred a pot of nervousness among the NXT roster. You see, Kemp, who hopped on the WWE train in 2021, earned pretty decent reviews for his in-ring antics. He was part of the No Quarter Catch Crew, but wasn’t exactly on the fast track to superstardom. This has left those in a similar boat wondering if they’re next on WWE’s chopping block.

Kemp’s last hurrah in the ring was a losing bout to Tavion Heights on the June 25 episode of “NXT.” Since Kemp’s exit, Heights has stepped into his shoes in the No Quarter Catch Crew, now helmed by the second-generation wrestler Charlie Dempsey. The former head honcho, Drew Gulak, also packed his bags in May after WWE decided not to renew his contract either. Talk about a trend!

Adding another layer to this soap opera, Kemp’s brother, Gable Steveson, was also let go by WWE in May. Family reunions must be awkward these days.

So, what’s next for the NXT roster? Will more stars be shown the door, or will they rise to the occasion and secure their spots? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more twists and turns in this wrestling saga!

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
