AEW fans, brace yourselves! On July 6, “AEW Collision” teased a mysterious new character, ‘holo.grm,’ sending the wrestling world into a frenzy of speculation. But the rumors can rest now – it’s confirmed that former AAA star Aramis is the man behind the mask.
At just 25, Aramis is no stranger to the wrestling world. He’s showcased his talents in AAA in Mexico and stateside promotions like PWG, GCW, and MLW. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reveals that AEW President Tony Khan had envisioned a character like ‘holo.grm’ for about five years. Khan meticulously scouted young Mexican talent to bring his vision to life.
Aramis, then a 20-year-old college student in Mexico, caught Khan’s eye. Whether he gave his word or signed a futures deal, similar to Nick Wayne’s arrangement, Aramis was slated for the role. However, the COVID-19 pandemic and other hurdles delayed his AEW debut, pushing him back to work with various indie promotions and AAA.
Now, with no obstacles in his path, Aramis is set to bring ‘holo.grm’ to life on a grand stage. The wait is over, and AEW fans can finally witness what this young talent brings to the table.
