Last night’s WWE Raw was hotter than a summer BBQ with Drew McIntyre’s suspension being lifted by Adam Pearce. Remember McIntyre’s epic meltdown post-Money in the Bank? Well, it’s hard to forget when CM Punk swooped in with his briefcase and snatched away McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship dream during Seth Rollins vs. Damian Priest. The Scottish Warrior went ballistic, assaulting officials left, right, and center, leading to his suspension.
Pearce, channeling his inner diplomat, dangled a carrot in front of McIntyre: a match against Punk at SummerSlam, but only if Drew apologizes to the referees he went all Braveheart on. Spoiler alert – McIntyre isn’t the apologizing type.
Fast forward to last night, WWE lit up social media with news that the “Best in the World” will grace Raw live from Green Bay, Wisconsin next Monday. The image they chose? An obnoxiously cheerful Punk. McIntyre’s reaction? Priceless.
“Are you p****s seriously gonna use this picture after what just happened?” McIntyre fumed online, perfectly capturing the collective eye-roll of every fan who’s ever felt personally victimized by a poorly chosen photo.
Punk’s last Raw cameo saw him justify his title-snatching antics and engage in a tense face-off with Rollins, who wasn’t exactly thrilled about Punk’s interference. As things heat up, it looks like McIntyre vs. Punk at SummerSlam is on the horizon – that is, if McIntyre can muster up an apology. But don’t hold your breath, folks.
