Well, folks, it looks like the wrestling world might be in for a double dose of Tongan power! The Tonga Twinz, Taahine and TalaVou Tonga, have been making waves since their debut three years ago. Now, it seems they might be bringing their championship-caliber talents to WWE.
The dynamic duo, known for their stint in Women of Wrestling (WOW) where they snagged the WOW Tag Team Championships, recently posted a photo that has the wrestling community buzzing louder than a chainsaw at a quilting bee. Taahine took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday morning, sharing a snapshot of herself, TalaVou, and another trainee chilling on the ring apron at the WWE Performance Center. Her caption? A simple yet tantalizing “island time.”
TalaVou, never one to miss out on the fun, retweeted the message, while the third member in the photo, @Lil_Tui, retweeted a fan’s post suggesting that she and the Tonga Twinz would make a fantastic trio. Could this be the beginning of a new powerhouse faction? Only time will tell, but it’s certainly got fans’ imaginations running wild.
Now, let’s address the elephant—or should we say the wild Samoan—in the room. Is this photo proof that the Tonga Twinz have signed with WWE? It’s still up in the air, folks. However, it wouldn’t be a shocker, considering WWE’s recent trend of strengthening their roster with Tongan and Samoan talent. Names like Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu have all joined the main roster as part of Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline stable. While the Tonga Twinz aren’t directly related to any Bloodline members, they share a connection through their trainer, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, the father of Sikoa and former Bloodline stars Jimmy and Jey Uso.
Before they dazzled in WOW, Taahine and TalaVou were tearing up the indie circuit as Ashley MK and Steff MK, also known as the MK Twins. They even had a brief stint in AEW in 2021, showcasing their skills on “AEW Dark” and “AEW Dark: Elevation.”
As we wait for official confirmation, one thing is clear: the Tonga Twinz are poised to make a big splash wherever they land. Stay tuned, wrestling fans, because this story is just getting started!
