When he’s not suplexing his way to victory and holding the WWE Intercontinental Championship high, Sami Zayn is prepping for his latest venture – stand-up comedy. That’s right, folks, Sami Zayn is ready to hit the comedy scene with his “Sami Zayn & Friends” show in Cleveland during SummerSlam weekend. Clearly, this champ can do more than just wrestle; he’s about to take the comedy world by storm.

Sami’s Comedy Dream Team

Sami has been pulling out all the stops for this event, which has been dubbed a variety show featuring an array of guest stars from comedy, television, and wrestling. Recently, Zayn gave fans a sneak peek of the behind-the-scenes action on X (formerly known as Twitter). The clip included snippets of Zayn’s prep sessions and some backstage interactions with his guest stars, including Trish Stratus, Cody Rhodes, and Bayley. Because nothing says “laugh out loud” like a headlock punchline from Trish Stratus, right?

Nervous Energy & Directorial Prowess

In the clip, Zayn confessed, “I would say equally nervous, if not more nervous than if this was a WrestleMania; even if the words aren’t perfect, it’s fine, it’s just like those comedic beats need to be there with a bunch of partners.” It seems our wrestling hero is trading body slams for punchlines, and he’s feeling the pressure.

Zayn also gave us a peek into his creative process, describing the show as “crazy” and revealing his hands-on approach. Not only did he write and produce the entire show, but he’s also been guiding his guests with the precision of a wrestling match. “I love the creative process of putting something together that takes you on that kind of ride, and goes from one thing to another and you don’t know what’s next!”

A Cheat Code for Comedy?

And, in true Sami fashion, he admitted to “cheating” by assembling a stellar lineup of guests. But the real highlight? The reaction from the Toronto crowd during filming. Zayn couldn’t help but gush about the audience, saying, “I feel the way I do after a great match when I do this. Something about that … Just addictive; I love it, I love it all.”

Sami Zayn: From Rings to Roasts

So, will Sami Zayn be the next big thing in comedy? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure: if he can make us laugh half as much as he can wrestle, we’re in for a real treat.
