On the July 20 episode of “AEW Dynamite,” Skye Blue squared off against former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida. However, the match hit the brakes faster than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest when Blue suffered a real-life ankle injury after an ambitious crossbody from Shida. The referee declared Shida the winner, marking an abrupt end to the bout. But have no fear, folks, because Blue’s boyfriend, Kyle Fletcher, quickly took to the socials to share an update on his damsel in distress.
“We got her home everyone, doctor Kyle on the clock. Yeeeeeeeefreakinhaaaaaaaaaw,” Fletcher posted on X, showcasing his medical expertise alongside a photo of a defiant, middle-finger-waving Blue. In addition to her signature white cowboy hat, Blue’s right ankle was wrapped tighter than a politician’s alibi. While the duration of her recovery remains as uncertain as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, Fletcher’s dedication to her care is crystal clear.
Since her AEW debut in 2021, Blue has gone from newbie to notable, frequently appearing on company programming and partnering up with former TBS Champion Julia Hart. With Hart taking a sabbatical to perfect her witchcraft, Blue has traded in her spooky attire for a brighter, yeehaw look – including the cowboy hat featured in Fletcher’s post.
Meanwhile, Fletcher’s quest for gold continues to resemble a treasure hunt with no map. After losing the Ring of Honor Television Championship to Atlantis Jr. at CMLL Super Viernes on June 28, he set his sights on the AEW International Championship. Unfortunately, his dreams of holding that title were dashed on the July 10 episode of “AEW Dynamite.” Stay tuned to see if Fletcher’s luck changes, or if he’ll need to enlist Blue’s cowboy magic for a title-winning spell.
