Ring of Honor is gearing up for a showdown that promises to be as wild as a Texas tornado! This Friday, ROH rolls into Arlington, Texas, for its Death Before Dishonor event, where Diamante and Leyla Hirsch will settle their score in a brutal Texas Death Match. This match, which follows their recent Lights Out brawl, is set to be the highlight of the night, honoring the state’s storied history of hardcore wrestling.
Tony Khan, the mastermind behind AEW and ROH, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to make the exciting announcement. “After Thursday’s brutal Lights Out fight made the tally 1-1, the score between Diamante/Leyla Hirsch will be settled at ROH Death Before Dishonor in a TEXAS DEATH MATCH,” Khan tweeted.
The rivalry between Diamante and Hirsch has been brewing for weeks, with tensions boiling over after Diamante attacked Hirsch following a match on “ROH on HonorClub.” Hirsch had bragged about her unbeaten streak against Diamante in their previous four encounters, but Diamante proved her mettle by winning the recent Lights Out match, evening the score. Now, with hardcore rules in play, their Texas Death Match is set to be a no-holds-barred battle for supremacy.
This highly anticipated clash joins a stacked card at Death Before Dishonor. Other matches include Mark Briscoe defending the ROH World Championship against Roderick Strong, Queen Aminata challenging Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship, and Red Velvet attempting to dethrone Billie Starkz as the ROH Women’s World Television Champion. Unfortunately, fan-favorite Dalton Castle will not be in action due to injury, as confirmed by Khan.
