Folks, we’ve got a big one here. The broadcast team at AEW is getting a familiar face, and trust me, it’s huge! We’re talking about the one and only Melissa Santos, known for her time at Lucha Underground. Now, she’s stepping into AEW, ready to shake things up and make wrestling great again!
Earlier this Tuesday, Melissa Santos, glowing like a million bucks, took to Instagram with a photo in front of the AEW logo. The caption? Pure gold. She asked fans if they missed her (of course, they did!), thanked AEW for the golden opportunity, and promised it was time to get to work. She even threw in a few hashtags, just in case you missed the memo: she’s on board as a backstage interviewer and ring announcer. It’s like the exclamation point at the end of an amazing sentence!
But let’s not forget, Melissa’s no rookie. She’s been around the block, folks. Before joining AEW, she made waves in TNA (now Impact Wrestling) from 2019. Most fans will remember her voice and presence from Lucha Underground, where she was the ring announcer for all four seasons. She even got in on the action, wrestling a match with Rey Fenix against Marty “The Moth” Martinez and Mariposa. This lady has range!
Before Lucha Underground, Melissa was training and wrestling with Women of Wrestling in 2013. She’s got the chops, no doubt about it. Joining AEW also means reuniting with her husband, Brian Cage. These two lovebirds have been a power couple since their days in Lucha Underground and Impact, and now they’re bringing that chemistry to AEW.
