Folks, big news from the world of AEW wrestling. Sammy Guevara, the high-flying dynamo with a penchant for getting into sticky situations, is set for a comeback after a little vacation—well, let’s call it a “suspension” due to an incident with Jeff Hardy. But Sammy’s not the only one lacing up his boots again; his better half, Tay Melo, is also gearing up for a return to the ring. And let me tell you, folks, the tribute he posted to X (formerly known as Twitter) is a real tear-jerker.
Sammy shared not one, but two photos of his lovely wife. The first one has Tay making her grand entrance to the ring—looking fierce, folks, absolutely fierce. The second is a cozy family snap featuring Sammy, Tay, and their adorable daughter, Luna. Sammy poured his heart out, praising Tay for being an amazing mother, wife, and wrestler. That’s right, she’s been training alongside him, getting ready to reclaim her spot in the AEW spotlight.
Now, let’s take a trip down memory lane. Tay Melo, who dazzled us in WWE from 2017 to 2020, signed with AEW in September 2020. She quickly became a force to be reckoned with, earning title shots against Hikaru Shida and Britt Baker, and even Jade Cargill for the AEW TBS Title. The wrestling world was abuzz when Tay and Sammy became a couple in January 2022, later becoming a power tag team and snatching the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships in April 2022.
Since March 2023, Tay’s been on a wrestling hiatus, teaming up with Sammy in an indie match before discovering she was pregnant. The news was joyfully announced just before Sammy’s match at AEW Double or Nothing. Post-pregnancy, Tay declared her intentions to return, aiming for the AEW Women’s and/or TBS Championships. A true champion’s spirit, folks!
So, keep your eyes peeled on AEW, because the Guevara-Melo power duo is coming back stronger than ever. And trust me, folks, it’s going to be YUGE!
