Following the Clash at the Castle, wrestling aficionados were treated to an exciting revelation: Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre, the newly-crowned WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, vowed to defend their titles across all three WWE brands. And now, the moment has arrived as the dynamic duo, known as Unholy Union, prepares to defend their titles during week one of the “WWE NXT” Great American Bash special.
On this week’s episode of “NXT,” Meta-Four’s Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend emerged victorious against Sol Ruca and Karmen Petrovic. But instead of basking in their win, Jackson and Legend immediately set their sights on Fyre and Dawn. In a fiery post-match promo, Legend threw down the gauntlet, challenging Unholy Union for the titles, calling her team “the brightest stars in the galaxy.”
Unholy Union didn’t leave the challenge hanging. Within minutes, Fyre and Dawn took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to accept the dare. Dawn’s response was chillingly direct: “The Brightest Stars in the Galaxy are about to be dimmed. [Lash] and [Jakara] consider your challenge accepted.”
So, mark your calendars, folks! Fyre and Dawn will defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the first night of the “NXT” Great American Bash, airing next Tuesday on SyFy. This defense marks a significant milestone for Unholy Union, as it’s their first since claiming the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Previously, they held the “NXT” Women’s Tag Team Championship until the titles were unified with the main roster belts in a match where Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey clinched victory in June 2023.
