Folks, we have a real situation here, a tremendous situation, believe me. Daniel Garcia, the young talent we all love, has been AWOL from AEW since the Beach Break edition of “AEW Dynamite” on July 3. You remember, the night he was absolutely clobbered by MJF, that mean guy who just can’t seem to play nice. Garcia’s dreams of holding the International Championship were shattered faster than a cheap piñata at a birthday party, courtesy of Will Ospreay.
Now, why has Garcia disappeared? Is it an injury? Nope! It turns out his contract is on the brink of expiration, and AEW decided to give him the old “write-off” treatment. Bryan Alvarez, the guy with all the scoops on “Wrestling Observer Radio,” spilled the beans. He said AEW crafted this whole angle to keep their bases covered, whether Garcia stays or decides to take his talents elsewhere. “If he comes back, great! They’ve got a ready-made feud with MJF. If not, well, they had an exit strategy,” Alvarez explained. Smart move, folks. Very smart.
Garcia has been playing coy about his future, and who can blame him? It’s a big decision, folks. Alvarez thinks there’s a real possibility that Garcia might pack his bags and head off into the wrestling sunset. “He’s been thinking about it, talking to people, weighing his options. It’s not 100% certain he’s coming back,” Alvarez noted. Sounds like a classic case of “Should I stay or should I go?”
Let’s see what Garcia decides. Stay tuned, wrestling fans, because this saga is far from over!
