In an epic twist at SummerSlam, Nia Jax snatched victory and the WWE Women’s Championship from Bayley, leaving fans both shocked and awed. Just when the crowd thought “Tiffy Time” was upon us, Tiffany Stratton’s music hit, and she dashed to the ring with her Money in the Bank briefcase. Although she didn’t cash in, her arrival created the perfect distraction. Bayley took the bait, engaging Stratton on the apron, which gave Jax the opening she needed to unleash her finishing move, the Annihilator, twice in a row, sealing her victory.
The bout kicked off with Bayley unleashing a relentless flurry of punches on Jax. However, the tide quickly turned as Jax relied on her sheer power, delivering crushing Samoan Drops, savage elbows, and bone-rattling Urinages. Bayley momentarily regained control with an impressive Powerslam off the top rope followed by a flying elbow, but Jax resiliently kicked out.
The match reached its climax when Stratton’s interference led to a chaotic exchange. Jax kicked out of a stack pin attempt, landed a devastating running knee, and delivered two Powerbombs. Finally, she finished Bayley with back-to-back Annihilators to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.
This victory marks Jax’s second reign as Women’s Champion, having last held the Raw Women’s Championship in 2018. Bayley’s reign, which began with a triumphant win over IYO SKY at WrestleMania in April, concludes just shy of four months.
