Hold on to your lederhosen, wrestling fans! The first match for Bash in Berlin has been unveiled, and it promises to be a barnburner! In a dramatic opening segment of WWE Raw, newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER strutted out to celebrate his SummerSlam triumph over Damian Priest.
GUNTHER’s Glorious Boast
Introduced with flair by a returning Ludwig Kaiser, GUNTHER basked in the spotlight, recounting his monumental achievements. He proudly detailed his record-setting Intercontinental Championship reign and his King of the Ring victory, leaving fans in awe of his impressive resume. The “Ring General” even dubbed himself “greatness personified,” because why not?
Enter the Viper
Just as GUNTHER was reveling in his self-proclaimed greatness, Randy Orton’s music hit, and the crowd went wild. Orton, ever the charismatic enigma, strolled to the ring and pointed out that while the title looked fantastic on GUNTHER’s shoulder, there was one small issue: Orton was the reason GUNTHER held that title in the first place. He was referring to their controversial King of the Ring final match, where Orton’s shoulders weren’t down when GUNTHER pinned him. This little mishap was even acknowledged by Paul “Triple H” Levesque in a press conference, hinting at a rematch.
Challenge Issued
Orton, never one to mince words, laid down the gauntlet. He challenged GUNTHER to a showdown at Bash in Berlin, promising to walk out of GUNTHER’s homeland as the new World Heavyweight Champion. GUNTHER, not one to shy away from a challenge, admitted that not beating Orton cleanly “left a stain on his record” and accepted the challenge.
Verbal Sparring
The segment ended with a tense exchange. GUNTHER declared, “Nothing catches me out of nowhere,” to which Orton, hinting at his deadly RKO, retorted, “I want you to see it coming.” Oh, the drama!
Mark your calendars, folks. Bash in Berlin is set for August 31 at the Uber Arena in Germany’s capital. It’s going to be one heck of a ride!
