After what feels like a saga longer than the wait for a WrestleMania main event, Odyssey Jones finally made his WWE Raw debut! Drafted not once, but twice to the red brand, the 30-year-old powerhouse stepped into the ring Monday night to assist The New Day in their battle against The Final Testament.
The Big Entrance
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were in a heated match against The Authors of Pain, who were backed up by Karrion Kross, Paul Ellering, and Scarlett. Things took a dirty turn when Kross landed a cheap shot on Woods, sending him crashing from the top turnbuckle. Rezar seized the moment to inflict more damage, but the tides turned dramatically.
Jones to the Rescue
Cue Odyssey Jones storming down the ramp, sporting a New Day t-shirt and a look of pure determination. He bulldozed Kross into the ring apron and then hurled him over the barricade into the crowd. This timely distraction allowed Woods to roll up Rezar for the victory. But the celebration was short-lived as Akam and Rezar launched a brutal beatdown on The New Day.
Jones Dominates
Jones wasn’t having any of it. He jumped into the ring and delivered a massive double sidewalk slam to both members of Authors of Pain, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Kross, not one to back down, entered the ring to face Jones but quickly found himself on the receiving end of yet another slam.
Backstage Celebrations
Backstage, the new alliance was in full swing. Kingston explained that he and Jones “linked up” at the Performance Center, and Jones was eager to help with their Final Testament problem. The trio’s camaraderie was on display as they were greeted by the Alpha Academy, who couldn’t contain their excitement and started dancing with delight.
Although Jones has been absent from WWE television until now, fans might remember his last appearance where he faced off against Omos at a Road to WrestleMania house show in March.
