Oh folks, you won’t believe this, but Judge Jeffrey Meyer has just body-slammed Vince McMahon’s attempt to halt the legal action in the Janel Grant case. Yep, the judge said, “Not today, Vince!”
The Lowdown
Judge Meyer told McMahon to take a hike after he tried to enforce a stay order in the ongoing lawsuit with Janel Grant. This all started when Grant sought medical records from Dr. Carlon Colker, claiming the ones she had were fishier than a tuna sandwich at a gas station.
The Lawsuit
Grant’s lawsuit is juicier than a soap opera, alleging that McMahon and his sidekick, John Laurinaitis, engaged in some highly dubious activities—think sexual exploitation and trafficking. The lawsuit was put on ice while the Department of Justice did some snooping around McMahon. But Grant wasn’t having any of that and went after Colker’s medical records like a dog with a bone.
Vince’s Motion
In response, McMahon tried to pull a fast one and enforce the stay order, essentially telling the court, “Hey, make her stop!” But Judge Meyer wasn’t buying it.
The Judge’s Slam Dunk
On August 6, Judge Meyer delivered a smackdown, stating, “The court denies defendant McMahon’s motion to enforce the Court’s stay order for failure to show that there has been a violation of the Court’s stay order.” In legalese, this translates to, “Nice try, Vince, but no dice.”
The judge further added that the federal stay order doesn’t reach into state court territory. In other words, if McMahon wants to tussle over state court proceedings, he’ll have to take it up with the state court.
The Verdict
Looks like McMahon’s legal maneuvers just took a big hit. This round goes to Grant and her quest for the truth. Stay tuned, folks, because this legal wrestling match is far from over!
