Folks, the wrestling world is a whirlwind of moves and shakes, and 2024 is proving to be no different. This week alone, the buzz about AEW’s The Lucha Brothers, Penta El Zero M, and Rey Fenix possibly joining WWE had everyone on the edge of their seats. But hold onto your hats, because now it’s Bobby Lashley’s turn to steal the spotlight!

The Lashley Lowdown

According to Fightful Select, Bobby Lashley’s contract is set to expire this weekend. That’s right, folks, Lashley is about to become a free agent, and the belief within WWE is that he won’t be coming back. No creative plans, no storyline, nada. Lashley’s second stint with WWE, which started in 2018, is wrapping up faster than you can say “Hurt Business.”

AEW on the Horizon?

What’s next for Lashley? Rumors are swirling like a tornado in a wrestling ring. A potential run with AEW has been discussed, but there’s been no formal negotiation yet since he’s still under WWE contract. However, many believe he’ll make at least one appearance for AEW—if not sign a full deal. And that’s not all! Lashley is expected to draw interest from MMA promotions, given his impressive track record from 2008 to 2020, and from wrestling promotions in Japan. The man has options!

The Hurt Business Reboot?

Lashley’s free agency news comes hot on the heels of MVP’s departure from WWE. MVP made his first post-WWE appearance at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, sparking rumors that Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin might reunite the Hurt Business in AEW. But, as always in the wrestling world, the future is as unpredictable as a steel cage match.
