In a move that even the Taskmaster himself couldn’t have scripted, Kevin Sullivan—renowned for making Hulk Hogan’s life a living hell and pulling WCW’s strings like a puppet master—has reportedly signed his last booking sheet at the age of 74. According to Pro Wrestling Insider, Sullivan passed away Friday morning, leaving behind a legacy as tangled and dramatic as one of his infamous heel turns.

Sullivan, who could strike fear into the hearts of fans and Hulkamaniacs alike, was the brains behind the Three Faces of Fear and the Dungeon of Doom, the villainous factions that kept Hulk Hogan occupied until he discovered the joys of black-and-white attire with the New World Order. Sullivan didn’t just play the bad guy in the ring; he orchestrated some of the most chaotic backstage politics WCW ever witnessed. If you thought wrestling was scripted, you clearly haven’t seen the Sullivan-Benoit saga—now there’s a feud that even Hollywood wouldn’t touch.

Let’s not forget the “I respect you, bookerman” incident, where Brian Pillman broke the fourth wall before breaking Sullivan’s patience—an incident that has since become the stuff of wrestling folklore. Appropriately, Sullivan’s last in-ring appearance was against none other than Pillman’s son, Lexis King, in 2019. Talk about closing the circle on a storyline.

So as we bid farewell to one of wrestling’s most diabolical minds, remember: The Taskmaster may have booked his final match, but his legacy is sure to haunt the squared circle for generations to come.
