In the latest episode of “Wrestling Is as Wrestling Does,” Billie Starkz, the wrestling world’s 19-year-old prodigy and future Hall of Famer (if she doesn’t break every bone in her body first), has been sidelined from an indie event due to an apparent injury. Yes, folks, it appears even the seemingly indestructible wonder kids of AEW and ROH aren’t immune to the dreaded injury bug.

Billie was all set to dazzle the crowd at Limitless Wrestling’s Vacation Cup on August 17 in Lewiston, Maine, where she was scheduled to square off against Gabbie Forza. But alas, the wrestling gods had other plans, and Billie has had to tap out before the bell even rang. The promotion took to its X page—because Twitter’s too mainstream now—to announce that New England’s own DAVIENNE would be stepping in as the last-minute replacement.

Now, if you’re thinking this is just another one of those clever ruses by Starkz, remember the time she faked a neck injury to snatch the ROH Women’s World Television Championship? Well, think again! This one’s for real, folks. The injury was confirmed by Billie herself in an Instagram story—because who needs a doctor’s note when you can post it on social media? However, the exact details of the injury remain as elusive as a wrestling ref’s ability to spot a chair shot.

Despite the setback, the 19-year-old sensation—who’s already making waves in AEW and ROH—is still the golden child of professional wrestling. She’s the wrestler your mother warned you about: young, talented, and with a penchant for bouncing back like nothing ever happened. Her last tango in the ring was a tag match at the ROH Honor Club TV #76 Taping on July 28, where she teamed up with Athena to body slam Queen Aminata and Red Velvet. Clearly, Starkz is already a big deal, as evidenced by her ever-growing list of frenemies in the ring.

Starkz’s rise to prominence hit a high note when she went toe-to-toe with Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship during last year’s ROH Final Battle. She’s as dedicated to the craft as a wrestler can be, a fact she made abundantly clear during the post-show media scrum. You can bet your bottom dollar that once this injury heals, Starkz will be back in the ring, proving to everyone why she’s the next big thing in professional wrestling—until, of course, she’s sidelined by another injury that she’ll probably Instagram about.

So, while Billie Starkz might be down for now, don’t count her out. After all, the ring is where she belongs, and she’ll be back—probably sooner than her doctor would recommend!

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
