Well, it looks like Randy Orton is just not ready to let GUNTHER sleep peacefully at night. The Legend Killer turned RKO machine took things to another level after WWE Raw went off the air this week, delivering his signature move to the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the second week in a row. That’s right, folks—GUNTHER said he’d never be on the receiving end of another RKO, and Orton said, “Challenge accepted!”
The fireworks between these two started earlier in the night when Orton and GUNTHER opened the show with some good old-fashioned smack talk. Orton, always the humble guy (just kidding), couldn’t resist reminding everyone how he dropped GUNTHER with an RKO back on August 12th. GUNTHER, in all his European stoicness, promised Orton that lightning wouldn’t strike twice. But, spoiler alert—it did.
Fast forward to the main event: Orton squared off against Ludwig Kaiser, one of GUNTHER’s loyal henchmen. Naturally, things got a little out of hand, and by “out of hand,” I mean a full-on brawl erupted between Orton and GUNTHER. The cameras might’ve stopped rolling, but Orton’s RKO was just getting started.
In a moment of poetic justice—or just Orton doing what Orton does—he hit the champ with yet another RKO, much to the delight of the crowd and the chagrin of everyone rooting for GUNTHER. The WWE feed might have cut out (again), but let’s be real, Randy Orton doesn’t care about airtime—he cares about making statements, and he made a big one heading into their match at Bash in Berlin.
As for GUNTHER? He’s probably regretting that whole “never again” promise right about now.
