Folks, what a tremendous sight to behold at the most recent AEW Dynamite! It’s like an AEW infirmary reunion—a real who’s who of injured stars, hobbling backstage, doing what they do best: not wrestling! I’m hearing it from everywhere, people are talking—some of AEW’s finest, Adam Cole and Julia Hart, were spotted backstage on September 18. You know what they say, folks: you can’t keep a good wrestler down… unless you break their ankle or tear their shoulder!
Adam Cole—this guy, let me tell you—hasn’t wrestled since Grand Slam in 2023. It’s been almost a year since he rolled his ankle like someone missing a step off a ramp, but he was seen walking around at the All Out pay-per-view. A year of not wrestling, folks, and now he’s backstage, walking. Is he ready to return? Well, the experts are saying, “Maybe, but probably not yet.” So, basically, he’s still on an extended vacation. Tremendous vacation, by the way. Adam Cole’s doing his part, walking around arenas while the rest of us are waiting for that sweet comeback. No timetable yet. Could be tomorrow. Could be next year. Stay tuned, folks, because nobody knows.
Now, Julia Hart—former TBS Champion, bless her heart—had been working through a shoulder injury like a trooper. A shoulder! That’s practically 50% of the upper body, folks. She disappeared after Dynasty in April and had surgery, but now, she’s back to the backstage hangout club. No timetable for her return either, but hey, she’s made her way to Dynamite. A good sign? Maybe. Or maybe she just really misses the catering. Time will tell.
And it doesn’t stop there. Powerhouse Hobbs, once the TNT Champion, recently graced the backstage hallways as well. It’s like AEW’s version of Where’s Waldo, only everyone you spot is injured! Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi are even training in Japan, possibly contemplating making 2024 their year—unless they, too, want to take a few more trips backstage before gracing the ring again.
But here’s the real question: Are these stars returning soon? Or are they just building up enough walking miles to earn their Apple Watch badges? Only time—and possibly more backstage sightings—will tell.
