Cody Rhodes, the man who turned a legacy into a dynasty and a nightmare into a dream, has hit a massive milestone in WWE history. According to Fightful Select, The American Nightmare has officially entered the top five in sales for any athlete or personality on Fanatics—a sports merchandising giant. That’s right, Cody is the first professional wrestler to crack this elite club, leaving behind names like Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin in a cloud of confetti and custom T-shirts.
Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin didn’t let this moment go uncelebrated. In a video shared by Rhodes himself, Rubin personally thanked the Undisputed WWE Champion for driving WWE’s business into overdrive:
“You are, without question, the number one person driving WWE’s business,” Rubin said before adding with a grin, “I’ve got to give The Rock and Logan Paul a hard time because you’ve outdone them!”
Previously, Rhodes was reported to have cracked the top 10 overall in sales, but now? He’s soared into the stratosphere. Considering Fanatics reps athletes, entertainers, and personalities from just about every industry, Cody’s achievement is huge—on par with delivering a Cross Rhodes to the universe itself.
Meanwhile, WWE has released its own 2023 top merchandise movers, with Rhodes rubbing shoulders with fellow megastars like Roman Reigns, LA Knight, and Rhea Ripley. But while some other merch (looking at you, CM Punk friendship bracelet) has attracted a bit of controversy lately, Cody’s gear remains a drama-free zone. It’s all about the wins, baby—both in the ring and at the cash register.
