Folks, WWE’s Bad Blood delivered plenty of drama, but let’s talk about the match that threw everyone’s betting pools into complete chaos. Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley, two fierce warriors who’ve been feuding for months, was supposed to crown Liv the victor—or so we thought. But like every good soap opera, plans changed, and things went off the rails faster than Dominik Mysterio being hoisted into the air in a shark cage.

That’s right—Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp spilled the tea on X (formerly known as Twitter), and it was hot. He confirmed that Liv Morgan was favored to win the match, but WWE, ever the master of last-minute drama, called an audible and flipped the script on the spot. According to Sapp, if you bet on Ripley, you made some coin. You could practically hear the collective “What?!” from fans and gamblers alike.

Now, about that match. Dominik Mysterio—Ripley’s loyal sidekick and real-life walking distraction—was dangling from the rafters in a shark cage, because why not? But things really took a turn when Raquel Rodriguez, who had been MIA since March, made her thunderous return. With Ripley’s attention locked on the suspended Dom, Rodriguez charged into the ring and clobbered Ripley from behind. The referee, who had the best seat in the house for this interference, didn’t need a second look—he called the match right there, handing Ripley a disqualification win.

So why the sudden change? WWE hasn’t confirmed what the original plan was, but the consensus is that Rodriguez was supposed to help Liv get the victory, probably so fans could erupt with joy, and so Ripley could rage like a cage-fighting storm. But since Rodriguez’s interference was too obvious to ignore, WWE had no choice but to go with the DQ finish, because if there’s one thing WWE is serious about, it’s protecting the credibility of their referees… when they feel like it.

Ripley and Morgan’s feud has been red-hot ever since Liv ambushed Ripley backstage on WWE Raw back in April, a move that put Ripley on the shelf for months. The two have picked up right where they left off, bringing all the intensity, all the fire—and now, all the shark cages. With Raquel Rodriguez back in the mix, it’s clear this story is far from over. Expect more twists, turns, and possibly someone being locked in a cage—again.
