Folks, Halloween is upon us, and you know what that means: pro wrestling with a dash of pumpkins, costumes, and more terrifying gimmick matches than a haunted hayride gone wrong! AEW, always ready to slam a holiday special into our faces like a candy-filled piñata, has something brewing for this spooky season. No tricks here, just a treat as they’ve filed to trademark “Fright Night Dynamite” for their October 30th episode, just one night shy of Halloween. That’s right, this show is about to be spooktacular (believe me, I know spooktacular).

According to reports—tremendous reports, some of the best you’ll ever read—AEW has laid down the legal groundwork, trademarking both “AEW Fright Night Dynamite” and “Fright Night Dynamite” for their usual “entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.” So it’s official: we’re getting a Dynamite episode draped in cobwebs, costumes, and the occasional jack-o’-lantern. Now, I don’t know about you, but I expect a lot of spooky action and maybe a wrestler or two getting thrown into a cauldron (it’s great, trust me).

If you’re keeping track (which you should be), this would be the first time ever that AEW’s flagship show “Dynamite” gets a Halloween-themed name. They did something similar back in 2021 with “Rampage,” but let’s be honest, the big show is Dynamite. And in case you forgot, in that very same spooky year, we saw The Dark Order and The Elite face off in a tag match where they dressed up in costumes. It was fun, it was festive, and someone probably had to explain to their kids why wrestlers dressed as Ghostbusters were beating up cowboys. Classic stuff, folks.

But wait, here’s where it gets interesting. Jon Moxley, fresh off ending Bryan Danielson’s full-time career (I’ll tell you, Bryan’s career ended faster than a fake news story), is lurking in the shadows for this fright fest. AEW has already hinted that “no one is safe” from Moxley’s wrath. So, while we might get some laughs with costumed wrestlers, we can also expect Moxley to deliver a few nightmares (the good kind, if you ask me). Will he show up in a hockey mask? Will someone finally wrestle a skeleton? Only time will tell, but I guarantee you it’s going to be tremendous.

Stay tuned for “Fright Night Dynamite”—it’ll be so spooky, even the referees will be scared to count to three. And if AEW doesn’t deliver, well, let’s just say, I’ll have words with them, okay?
